F.A.Q.

If you have any questions not addressed on our site, don't hesitate to call our office.

How often should I visit the dentist?

-For most patients, the American Dental Association recommends a complete dental exam with cleaning every six months.

Do I need dental insurance to visit Shaw Dental Health?

-We strive to work with patients in a variety of circumstances.  Please don't hesitate to call our office with insurance and billing questions.

Do you accept patients from Chattanooga?

-Our offices are located just off of I-75, less than five minutes from East Brainerd and ten minutes from Downtown Chattanooga.  This means that our office is easily accessible to all parts of Chattanooga and the surrounding areas, and we  have numerous Chattanooga and North Georgia patients.

How can I prevent cavities?

-Everyone can be susceptible to cavities, even people who brush their teeth regularly and avoid sugary foods and drinks.  We recommend brushing after meals, flossing regularly, and rinsing with a fluoride solution.  Most cavities happen between teeth where brushing doesn't reach.  Regular flossing can help prevent these types of cavities, and fluoride rinses will strengthen your tooth enamel and remineralize areas of your teeth that have been softened by decay.  Most importantly, visiting us regularly (every 6 months) can help provide you with specific tips for your teeth and services, such as cleaning, to prevent and battle cavities.

Do you offer cosmetic dentistry?

-Yes, Shaw Dental Health offers the latest cosmetic dental tools and techniques.  Cosmetic dentistry, friendly service, and a comfort-focused approach are cornerstones of our dental practice.

Are your offices kid-friendly?

-Shaw Dental Health welcomes patients of all ages.  Dr. Shaw focuses on making all patients comfortable and making dental visits low stress and enjoyable.
